NGA:2011

4 02 2011

Welcome to 2011! (belated as it may be)

We’re only a month deep into the year and it’s already been a busy time for NGA.

Our Ultimate team is currently 2 for 2 in the current season and things are only looking to get better and better. It seems we’ve improved somewhat since we first started at the start of last year. We’re still looking to add more people to the ranks so if you’d like to check Ultimate Frisbee out, drop me a line and we can throw the disc around a bit.

We’ve already had our first LAN for the year and it was a really good time; Adsman made the whole event, which made it the whole thing that much better. Thanks again to SCUZNUTS for the use of his place for this. We’ll be posting more information on the next NGA:LAN event soon. We’ve also created a Steam community group and will be scheduling some WAN events in the near future. Stay tuned to see how you can get involved with those.

Supernatural Sunday has been going strong over the summer period, even if there’s been no Supernatural to watch, instead we’ve been charging ahead with double episodes of Stargate Universe. We’ll be back to our usual program this weekend as Supernatural returns from its hiatus tomorrow. It looks like there won’t be another season of Supernatural so if there’s something you think could take its place let me know and we’ll check it out.

If you’re interested in anything I’ve mentioned or would like to know about the other lil’ somethin somethin’s NGA has going on leave a comment and we’ll get the ball rolling, or you can visit us here.

If you’d like to join our Steam Community please visit here

Looking forward to a year full of good times,

Joel and the NGA Team.

Genetic engineers Clive Nicoli (Adrien Brody) and Elsa Kast (Sarah Polley) achieve fame by successfully splicing together the DNA of different animals to create incredible new hybrid animals. Now they want to use human DNA in a hybrid that could revolutionize science and medicine. But the pharmaceutical company that funds their research, N.E.R.D. (Nucleic Exchange Research & Development), forbids it, instead mandating that their department be reorganized to focus on finding & extracting certain proteins from the creatures they have already created. Not wishing to spend all their time engaged in what they consider mundane research for the next 5-10 years, Clive and Elsa secretly conduct their own experiments, blending human DNA with that of other animals.

Ultimate: Season 2 game 2

23 11 2010

Hi everybody.

Let’s just put it out there, last season we finished 3rd to last in the season rankings. That’s a fair assignment considering we had just one person who’d played the game before it started. It should be no surprise then to hear in our first game last week (where we played a ranking match against the 3rd strongest team from last season) we were soundly beaten 14-1. Now that’s over, hopefully we’ll be up against some teams more suited to our level.

Here are to details for this week’s B-grade draw:

Macalister 1 – Ruskus Mungus v. Business Time

Macalister 2 – Zesty Creature v. Wolves

Mt Albert – Sex Panther v. NGA

Martin Luckie 1 – Mild Cats v. Mt Vic Massive

Martin Luckie 2 – Crew v. Rabbid Rabbits

Martin Luckie 3 – Savage Cats v. Can’t Touch Disc

If you’re in the team could you please arrive around 6pm. If you’d like to come down and support NGA the game is at Mt Albert (above Martin Lucky Park) and starts at 6:30.

If you’re in the team and haven’t paid your fees please contact Tim and let him know when it’ll happen. He needs the money back so he can use it to keep his girlfriend happy..
